“Important today”: Karl Lauterbach: “We do not need to be vaccinated”

Compulsory vaccination: yes or no? France and Greece are rushing forward – do we need a similar regulation in Germany too? SPD health expert Karl Lauterbach has a clear opinion on this.

After France and Greece made the corona vaccination mandatory for employees in health professions, the debate also reached Germany. SPD health expert Karl Lauterbach clearly rejects forced vaccinations in the podcast “today important”. In an interview with moderator Michel Abdollahi, he says: “We do not need to be vaccinated.”

No compulsion

Lauterbach warns of a corresponding law: “We promised that we would not work with coercion. If we did that now, we would give a very clear signal that we would also make vaccination compulsory in other areas,” says the expert. Compulsory vaccination is also not expedient “because most of our nursing staff and doctors are already vaccinated”.

Podcast “important today”

Sure, strong opinion, on the 12: “Today important” is not just a news podcast. We set topics and initiate debates – with poise and sometimes uncomfortably. This is what host Michel Abdollahi and his team speak out for stern– and RTL reporters: inside with the most exciting people from politics, society and entertainment. They let all voices have their say, the quiet and the loud. Anyone who hears “important today” starts the day with information and can have a sound say.

Outside as much as possible

With a view to the rising seven-day incidence in Germany, Lauterbach advises against extensive relaxation of the corona measures, especially indoors: “The more security we can afford now, the better we will be in autumn. You should do as much as possible do it outside, safety is given outside. ” Lauterbach believes the British model of allowing very high incidence values to be the wrong approach: “There will be more case numbers in the hospitals and then this course cannot be maintained.”
