In Venice, George Clooney leaves the spotlight to his wife Amal. The human rights lawyer was awarded a prize.
No matter where they appear, the flashbulbs are certain: On Thursday, Amal Clooney (45) was in the limelight. She attended the DVF Awards in Venice with her husband George (62). The 45-year-old human rights lawyer received the “DVF Leadership Award”.
The DVF Awards were created in 2010 by fashion icon Diane von Furstenberg (76) to honor women who have shown leadership, strength and courage in their commitment to their causes and who have made a lasting difference in the world.
Wow performance in Venice
Clooney arrived at the event in a particularly form-fitting dress. The nude-colored dress was reminiscent of an elegant negligee with the lace on the décolleté and hem and the delicate spaghetti straps. She combined it with a white tulle overskirt. Restrained gold jewelry and flat sandals – also in gold – completed the look. Husband George, on the other hand, opted for a dark suit that made his wife look even more radiant.
The couple drove to the event by boat, as numerous pictures show. The actor, like a gentleman, insisted on helping his wife get in and out of the car. Also on Friday, the two were photographed on a boat trip through the lagoon city. The couple had already arrived in the city on Tuesday, just in time for the Venice Film Festival. The two are said to have stayed in their regular hotel Cipriani.
The Clooneys and Italy
The Clooneys have a special connection with Italy. In September 2014, the couple married in Venice. Previously, Clooney had already put down roots on Lake Como and invested millions in various properties there. With his wife and their twins Ella and Alexander (6), he again spent an extended family vacation this summer in his Villa Oleandra in the tranquil little town of Laglio.
