Wrestling star Hulk Hogan has lost 40 pounds. The pounds of the 70-year-old tumbled by not drinking alcohol.
Wrestling legend Hulk Hogan (70) has opened up about his weight loss in a new interview. the 70-year-old revealed that he has weighed over 18 kilograms less since the beginning of the year. According to Hogan, the reason for the success with the weight loss is simple: He has not drunk alcohol for eight months.
No junk food without alcohol
“It changed everything,” Hogan told TMZ Live. Because the wrestling star no longer drinks alcohol, he no longer eats too much – or too many unhealthy foods. “I stopped eating late at night – and I stopped eating junk food,” Hogan said. As a result, he “immediately had about 40 pounds [umgerechnet über 18 Kilogramm] removed.”
The six-time WWE Champion explained that he stopped drinking alcohol, especially for the sake of his fiancee Sky Daily (45). Hogan has been engaged to the 45-year-old yoga teacher since the summer. “I’ve been with my girlfriend Sky for a while and every bad thing that’s happened to me in my life – my two marriages – all the bad things have had to do with alcohol,” Hogan said on the occasion of the engagement. During his previous marriages there was “a lot of alcohol consumption”.
Hogan was married to Linda Hogan (64) from 1983 to 2009. In 2010 he tied the knot with Jennifer McDaniel (49). The relationship lasted eleven years.
Painkillers and alcohol in pro wrestling
In general, Hogan, whose real name is Terrence Gene Bollea, has become a regular drinker through professional wrestling. “We drank beers after fights and before fights. At the hotel we all met at the bar. It was part of the whole wrestling scene,” Hogan reported.
The athlete also came into contact with painkillers during this time. The wrestlers were prescribed these for injuries and then slipped into addiction.
Hogan does not want to give up alcohol completely in the future, despite his weight loss success. However, in the future he never wants to reach for the bottle again to the same extent. “I would never drink every day like I did in my wrestling days,” Hogan said.
