According to media reports, the Spanish actor Gabriel Guevara (22) has been arrested in Venice. An international arrest warrant was issued against the star of the Amazon film series “Culpa Mia” for alleged sexual assault in France upon his arrival.

According to the report, the arrest took place on September 2, last Saturday. The following Sunday, Guevara should have received an award at the Filming Italy festival, which runs parallel to the Venice Film Festival – the 22-year-old had been chosen as the best young actor there. Exact details regarding the arrest, a possible extradition and the exact allegations are not yet available.

Festival distances itself

there is a statement on the matter. It states that they “would like to clarify that the presence in Venice of the Spanish actor Gabriel Guevara, who according to some press sources is currently in detention, is not linked to any activity or production of the 80th Venice International Film Festival”.

Guevara’s career started in 2018 thanks to Spanish teen series Skam España. This year he celebrated his international breakthrough with the film “Culpa Mia – Meine Schuld” (English title: “My Fault”). Two sequels are planned for the strip, which is based on a novel of the same name: Production on “Your Fault” and “Our Fault” began a few days ago and was only announced at the end of August.
