The collectibles, which will be auctioned online, are valued at more than $8 million.

An archive of the protest for the peace of John Lennon and yoko ono in 1969 and even a birthday card sent by George Harrison are part of the lot of objects that will be sold this month in one of the auctions of the beatles most expensive and important organized by the auction house GottaHaveRockandRoll from New York.

The collectibles, which will be auctioned online and are valued at more than $8 million, include a section of the television set wall that served as the backdrop for the historic appearance of the beatles in the program ed sullivanclothing, speakers, signed contracts and a curious birthday card from George Harrison for his caretaker, signed “Adolf Schinkengruber”, which alludes to the surname of Hitler’s father, according to The Guardian.

What’s in the John Lennon and Yoko Ono lot?

The “bed of peace” material speaks volumes about the mentality of Lennon and Ono at the time. They were married in Gibraltar in March 1969, a location chosen, according to him, because it was “quiet, British and friendly”. After a few days in Paris, they arrived in Amsterdam in Lennon’s white Rolls Royce to begin their “bed of peace”: a week-long peace protest held in the midst of the Vietnam War. It was a huge media event that included journalists invited to ask the pajama-clad couple questions.

The archive of peace protest material has a total of 119 lots, including a greeting card that is sure to fuel theories that George Harrison had a less than avowable interest in Hitler.. The greeting card being sold is from Harrison to the caretaker of his estate in Hawaii. Written in German, it says “happy birthday my friend”, and is signed “from Adolf Schinkengruber [el nombre de nacimiento del padre de Hitler era Schicklgruber] – George, Olivia and Dhani”. It also includes a drawing of Hitler.

The auction house is disassociating itself from the matter, saying it could suggest “a certain degree of intrigue” that led to the legally controversial reports. Or, he says, “perhaps it was simply a reference to the strict rule of caretaker at Harrison’s home in Hawaii?” The card is estimated to cost between $30,000 and $40,000.
