She dares, and that at the age of 66: Désirée Nick drops the covers for the men’s magazine “Playboy”. The grande dame of provocative entertainment is the cover girl of the October issue. With her nude photos, the cabaret artist, actress and author, who is known as Germany’s sharpest tongue, wants to convey a clear message.
That’s her message
“With the photos for ‘Playboy’ I want to show that the perception of women in the middle of life and in the second half of life has changed massively. You have to throw clichés overboard. Half of the women actually only start from 50 blossom,” she explains in an interview with the magazine. For her, the shooting is an “act against ageism”, i.e. against discrimination against old people.
The photos were taken in a noble Italian palazzo. Matching the backdrop, Nick went for a glamorous look for her cover photo: she only wore a pink tulle kimono with golden sequins and a feather border to go with golden pumps and accessories. Her blonde hair was styled in an elegant bun.
Désirée Nick: “Absolutely nothing has been done to my body”
On the decision to do the nude shoot at the age of over 60, Nick explains: “I wasn’t there when I was 20. I wasn’t there when I was 30 either. I actually became like this through my son, through motherhood , through responsibility, through independence and through self-determination.” She wants to break through role models and clichés: “I have transported everything that is called erotic stimuli to a completely new age group.”
Incidentally, she did not help with her body. “I go to the doctor for Botox, but that’s part of the cosmetics. Absolutely nothing has been done to my body,” the 66-year-old clarifies.
