At the popular Glastonbury Festival, which usually takes place in June near Bath and Bristol in Great Britain and is attended by around 200,000 party-loving people, Miley Cyrus had a drastic moment of realization in 2019.
Shortly before the singer’s headlining performance, she suddenly realized that her marriage was over. She now revealed this in a series of videos on TikTok, which the singer posted to promote her new song “Used To Be Young”. “Glastonbury was at the end of June,” she says, “that’s when the decision was made.” At that moment she realized what her marriage was really based on. “Of course it was love first and foremost. We had been together for ten years.” But underneath there was another, dark layer: “There was also a base of trauma. We tried to work through it as quickly as we could,” said the 30-year-old. But they didn’t succeed.
The couple met and fell in love in 2010 on the set of the Nicholas Sparks film adaptation With You By My Side. Viewers of the film were able to watch almost live how the two young actors developed feelings for each other. A few ups and downs followed. The two got engaged for the first time in 2012, but separated a year later. They then went their separate ways for three years until they got back together and married in 2018.
