Prince Harry and Meghan visited Düsseldorf a year ago – they are coming back to the Invictus Games. Harry has been there from the beginning, Meghan is following suit. The federal government is also represented.
Prince Harry (38) arrived at a reception in Düsseldorf City Hall on Saturday. He was welcomed by Mayor Stephan Keller (CDU) and Federal Defense Minister Boris Pistorius (SPD). More than 100 waiting fans who had hoped for selfies and autographs were disappointed: immediately after the welcome they went to the town hall. There Harry and Pistorius should sign their names in the Golden Book.
On Saturday evening, Harry wants to open the Invictus Games he founded for war-disabled soldiers in the Merkur Spiel-Arena in Düsseldorf. A small group of demonstrators protested against the event outside City Hall as Harry arrived, saying it promoted the “normalization of war.”
