No piece of paper fit between Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan on Tuesday evening. After the big reunion on German soil, the couple demonstrated unity – and immediately attended an event together.
Prince Harry and his wife Duchess Meghan are finally back on the road as a double act: after their reunion, the couple immediately made their first appearance together in Düsseldorf. Together they took the stage at the “Friends @ Home Event” as part of the Invictus Games that was currently taking place. The couple stood close together in front of the audience and addressed a few words of thanks to those present.
After reports spread that the former actress had been spotted at Los Angeles airport, Meghan arrived in Düsseldorf on the afternoon of September 12th. She and Prince Harry will remain in Germany until the end of the Invictus Games on September 16th.
Meghan with a special role at Invictus Games
In the meantime, there had been different information about when exactly Duchess Meghan would arrive in Germany. Initially it was said that she would land in Düsseldorf two days after her husband. Prince Harry had already reached Düsseldorf on September 8th after a short trip to his British homeland, where he attended an awards ceremony and was seen at the resting place of his grandmother Queen Elizabeth (1926-2022) on the first anniversary of her death.
Duchess Meghan will be given a special task at the end of the sixth edition of the Invictus Games. At the closing ceremony, she will “personally moderate” the stories of the war-disabled competitors and those of their families. Meanwhile, Prince Harry, as patron and initiator of the Invictus Games, is expected to say the final words and hand over the Invictus flag to the next host. Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier is also expected to speak at the farewell ceremony.
