The twins of Prince Albert and Princess Charlène of Monaco are now in third grade. In an interview, their mother revealed what has changed for the two eight-year-olds and what hobbies they have.
Separate classes for the eight-year-old twins Jacques and Gabriella from Monaco: The children of Prince Albert and Princess Charlène, now third graders, have undergone a big change after the summer holidays. Her mother revealed that the two were really looking forward to seeing their friends again after the long vacation. She added: “This is also the first time that Jacques and Gabriella are not in the same class. This is a big step for them and it seems good to me.”
At the start of the new school year on September 11th, her children had “a lot of expectations, like every student on the first day of school: of their new classmates, of the teachers, of what they would wear on that first day.” Charlène also revealed about her children’s personalities: “Gabriella is quite spontaneous, she has a certain self-confidence. Jacques is very reserved, but very attentive.” The princess further explained: “They complement each other to a certain extent and are gradually winning over those around them. But they are still young and are developing further from day to day.”
Princess Charlène reveals: Jacques and Gabriella love these sports
Charlène also spoke to “Monaco-Matin” about Jacques and Gabriella’s sporting preferences: She and her husband initially thought it was important to teach the children to swim so that they were not afraid of water. Gabriella also has a passion for hip-hop dance. Jacques practices Taekwondo. “It’s about giving them a good education, self-confidence and a happy childhood.” But she doesn’t want to push her children towards competitive sports.

Charlène herself was a competitive swimmer. Before his accession to the throne in 2005, Prince Albert represented his country five times (1988 to 2002) at the Winter Olympics, in which he took part as a bobsledder.
Charlène and Prince Albert II married on July 1, 2011, and the church wedding followed the day after. The twins Gabriella and Jacques were born in December 2014.
Prince Albert II recently spoke about his marriage in an interview with “Corriere della Sera” and took a clear stance against the numerous rumors of separation. “Charlène is always by my side,” he explained. He clarified that he doesn’t understand all these rumors about her living somewhere else; that’s a “lie.” “These rumors hurt me,” adds the 65-year-old.
