This is the fourth consecutive month with a tourist surplus. That is to say, there were more trips by international tourists to Argentina than trips by national tourists abroad (536 thousand in July). Furthermore, and as has happened since April, incoming tourism once again exceeded pre-pandemic levels, with an increase of 7.4% compared to July 2019.

During the presentation of the promotional strategy for winter 2023, ministers Sergio Massa and Matías Lammens had predicted a “record season.” On that occasion, the national authorities thanked the joint work with Aerolíneas Argentinas, which made available an unprecedented offer for the Brazilian market and deployed 17% more domestic flights than in the pre-pandemic.
In the same sense, the National Directorate of Markets and Statistics of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Nation reported last Friday that there were already more than 4.6 million trips by tourists residing abroad to our destinations between January 1 and August 31, 2023. According to projections, 3,598 million dollars entered our economy in the first eight months of the year from inbound tourism.
