November 19th is the traditional national holiday in Monaco. On that date, the residents of the small state and the royal family usually get together and attend a parade of the guards in the courtyard. Afterwards there is a service and at the end the Grimaldis wave from the palace balcony.
That year, Charlène von Monaco, Prince Albert’s wife, was absent. In return, the many children drew even more glances. Charlotte Casiraghi presented her son Balthazar for the first time. The emotional climax of the event was certainly when Charlène’s children, the twins Hereditary Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella, held up self-written signs addressed to their mother from the balcony of the palace courtyard. It read in English: “We miss you Mom” and “We love you Mom”.
