A24 presented the first trailer of Dream Scenariothe surreal comedy starring Nicolas Cage which emerged at the Toronto Film Festival as one of the most talked-about titles of the fall season. counting to Ari Aster, Lars Knudsen and Tyler Campellone from Square Peg among its producers, the R-rated title is scheduled to debut in US theaters on November 10.
What Dream Scenario is about
Cage plays Paul Matthews, a hapless family man whose life is turned upside down when millions of strangers suddenly start seeing him in their dreams. But when his nightly appearances take a nightmarish turn, Paul is forced to navigate his newfound stardom.
The trailer begins with a disturbing sequence of events, in which more and more people realize that Cage’s character, Paul, has been appearing in all of their dreams, although he is not doing anything particularly special. However, when he begins to capitalize on his newfound fame, his own life becomes unstable as the dreams become more violent and disturbing.
The film, which marks the English-language debut of the Norwegian screenwriter and director Kristoffer Borgli (Sick of Myself), also stars Julianne Nicholson, Michael Cera, Tim Meadows, Dylan Gelula, Dylan Baker and Kate Berlant. In addition to Beau Is Afraid filmmaker Aster, Knudsen and Campellone, producers include Jacob Jaffke and Cage.
