Actress Gillian Anderson has now revealed in a question and answer session on Instagram that she would like to wear comfortable clothes forever. “I’ve become so lazy,” said the 52-year-old and revealed that she said goodbye to one item of clothing in particular. “I don’t wear a bra anymore. I just can’t, I’m sorry. I don’t care if my breasts hang up to my belly button. I’ll never wear a bra again, it’s just so damn uncomfortable.”

The American is about to start filming the series “The First Lady”, in which she portrays President’s wife Eleanor Roosevelt. She looks forward to embodying a character everyone likes, Anderson said on Instagram. In contrast to the British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, whom she played in “The Crown”. In February, Anderson was honored with a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress for her performance on the Netflix series. Now she can still hope for an Emmy, because like many of her “The Crown” colleagues, she has received a nomination.
The 52-year-old remembers the filming of the British production with enthusiasm. She especially enjoyed working with Helena Bonham Carter (plays Princess Margaret) and Olivia Colman (Queen Elizabeth II). The funniest scenes were those in Scotland, when the whole crew was filming in a large house that is supposed to represent Balmoral Castle, the Queen’s summer residence.
Anderson was in a four-year relationship with Peter Morgan, who wrote the scripts for “The Crown”. At the beginning of the year there were rumors of a new attempt at a relationship between the two, but the couple did not comment. The actress has a daughter with her first husband, Canadian production designer Clyde Klotz. Her two sons come from a relationship with businessman Mark Griffith. The couple separated in 2012 after six years together.
It looks as if Gillian Anderson is enjoying her freedom shortly before her 53rd birthday – without a husband and without a bra.
