When the doors of the imposing plane embossed with the coat of arms of the British royal family open, the King of Great Britain and his wife disembark in windy Paris. King Charles and Camilla are on a state visit to the French capital.
A meeting between the two countries had already been planned in March, but was postponed due to national unrest against French President Emmanuel Macron. Now the British guests of honor have landed and Queen Camilla is wearing a trendy color: pink. In the past few weeks, the colors pink and pink have been used in all media as Greta Gerwig’s film “Barbie” caused a real hype.
Queen Camilla’s outfit: Pink is currently a message
The film about the famous toy doll has a profound message. Because in a world parallel to reality, in Barbieland, women rule. All important functions are carried out by women and when confronted with the “normal” world in the film, the question arises: Why are men predominantly in power in reality?
It’s quite possible that Queen Camilla also wanted to make a statement with the color of her look. In the royal family, everything is usually very well thought out and coincidences are rare. It’s also funny to note that France’s Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne also chose the color pink when she picked up the distinguished visitor from the plane.
King Charles doesn’t want to eat foie gras
The Ken next to Camilla, King Charles, had apparently invested less time in the message of his outfit and preferred to devote it to planning the menu for the upcoming state banquet in France. According to the British Daily Mail, he had two dishes taken off the menu that he didn’t want to eat. Foie Gras, the French specialty made from foie gras, was the first to fly. The king does not want to support this type of animal fattening, which is even banned in Germany. The animal protection organization Peta writes about the production of foie gras: “Foie gras or a so-called foie gras is the pathologically enlarged ‘fatty liver’ of ducks and geese. The tortuous product is produced by force-feeding geese and ducks using ‘stuffing’, causing their liver to swell to up to ten times its normal weight.”
So the two star chefs Yannick Alléno and Anne-Sophie Pic (each have three Michelin stars) had to reschedule.
The new menu to be served at the Palace of Versailles includes:
Starter: Blue lobster and crab with a hint of fresh almond and peppermint
(Created by Anne-Sophie Pic, the only French chef with three Michelin stars)
Main dish: Chicken with corn and porcini mushroom gratin
(Cooked by Yannick Alleno)
Cheese: 30 month old Comté, Stichelton English Blue
Dessert: Persian macarons from Isfahan
(Pierre Hermé’s signature pudding, inspired by the ancient city in Iran and made with rose water, raspberries and lychees)
