Better southern France than northern Italy: George Clooney is apparently planning to sell his property on Lake Como. If the rumored prices are correct, the deal would definitely be worth it.
Hollywood star George Clooney wants to get rid of his luxury villa on Lake Como, according to media reports. The property in the municipality of Laglio directly on the shore of the northern Italian lake, where the 62-year-old actor has been staying for two decades, is therefore for sale. This was reported by the Italian magazine “Oggi”, citing a real estate agency that specializes in high-priced houses and properties in the region. The newspaper “Corriere della Sera” speculated on Friday that the proceeds would be up to 100 million euros.
Clooney bought the “Villa Oleandra” 20 years ago – reportedly for eight million euros. In recent years he has stayed there more often with his wife Amal and their two twins. In addition to Hollywood celebrities, the guests also included former US President Barack Obama and his family. Unfortunately for the Clooneys, tourists and paparazzi keep trying to get a closer look at the area from the lake. The police have therefore set up a kind of exclusion zone.
According to media reports, the reason for the migration plans is that the Clooneys now prefer to stay in the south of France, where they have owned a country house for some time. There have been rumors about the celebrity couple saying goodbye to Lake Como several times in the past. However, real estate agent Yasemin Baysal told “Oggi”: “This time it’s true.” There is already a very interested potential buyer.
