The exhibition “Paintings for the people” that will bring together and honor the work of Florencio Molina Campos, the painter who popularized gaucho customs with the “poor’s art gallery” and the famous Alpargatas almanacs that brought his works to homes throughout the country , will be exhibited at the Kirchner Cultural Center from September 26.

In room 504 on the fifth floor, until October 29 and curated by Federico Ruvituso, director of the Emilio Pettoruti Provincial Museum of Fine Arts and Viviana Mallol, director of the Enrique Udaondo Provincial Museum Complex, the exhibition recovers a fundamental part of the work by one of the most popular painters in the country and brings together works that range from his childhood and his graphic work, through the illustrations of the legendary Alpargatas almanacs and unknown works, to his latest creations.
The works that will be exhibited have their own history and, as the organizers explain, “the collection was on the verge of being lost forever due to the unclear handling of those who were responsible for safeguarding it. It was able to be recovered and exhibited on a traveling basis in the province of Buenos Aires based on an inter-institutional work of the Florencio Molina Campos Foundation together with the Cultural Institute of the Province of Buenos Aires, the Municipality of Moreno, the Emilio Pettoruti Provincial Museum of Fine Arts of La Plata, the Enrique Udaondo Provincial Museum Complex of Luján, the Cultural Institute of the Province of Buenos Aires, and the artist’s family”.
