George Clooney is apparently not parting with his villa on Lake Como after all. The actor has denied such rumors.
George Clooney (62) and his wife Amal (45) apparently don’t say “Arrivederci” to their dream villa on Lake Como, Italy. The US actor has now personally denied such rumors. “I first heard about it when Page Six broke the story. Everyone picked up on the story. It’s not true,” . The house is not for sale.
Rumors of an alleged sale of the property, valued at $100 million, first surfaced in early September. “Page Six”, the gossip portal of the “New York Post”, reported on it and cited an insider close to the Hollywood star. The actor is said to have bought the villa in 2002 for around ten million US dollars and later bought a neighboring building. Clooney’s presence on the northern Italian lake is said to have caused real estate prices to rise rapidly.
Special place for George Clooney
The couple has also owned the Domaine du Canadel property in Provence, France, for two years. At first it was said that Amal Clooney preferred to live there than in Italy. Apparently that’s not the case after all. Especially since the villa in Italy is a special place for the two of them: the actor and the human rights lawyer met here at a dinner party in 2013. They married in Venice in 2014. Her twins Alexander and Ella were born in 2017. According to media reports, six-year-olds in Italy should also go to school.
