Alejandro Medina returns to the stage after overcoming several health problems

The artist’s health problems began after a car accident and after contracting hepatitis C.

Alejandro Medinaone of the undisputed pioneers of argentine rockwill return to the stage in a series of shows planned for the suburbs, after 10 months of inactivity due to the liver problems that he has had for several years and for which he received a transplant at the end of 2017.

The exManal, The Heavy of Rock and Roll and Aeroblusamong other legendary groups, will perform with their band La Medinight Band on Saturday, November 4, at 10 p.m., at Rulos Bar, in Ezeiza, an occasion in which they will celebrate their 74th birthday.

Meanwhile, on Saturday, November 11, at 9 p.m., he will do the same at El Galpón de Las Artes in La Plata; and on Saturday, December 2, at 9 p.m., he will perform at Whiskey Resto Bar in Castelar.

Alejandro Medina’s health problems

The musician had gone through a difficult health moment in March of this year due to chronic kidney deficiency caused by the medications he was given after the transplant he received at the end of 2017.

The artist’s health problems began after a car accident and after contracting hepatitis C.

Since then, a large number of colleagues from different musical styles have participated in benefit concerts to cover their expenses due to their inability to work.

Medina is one of the pioneers of Argentine rock based on his work in Manalthe first blues group in the country, along with drummer Javier Martínez and the guitarist Claudio Gabis.

Previously, he had been part of The Seasonsnext to Carlos Mellinoone of the first groups of the local movement to record an album.

After the dissolution of the famous trio, in the early ’70s, he was part of La Pesada del Rock and Roll and Aeroblus, among other groups; and then faced a career as a soloist in which he recorded memorable albums such as “Hoy no esyer”, from 1994.
