Angus Cloud immediately became known with his first role in the series “Euphoria”. At the end of July came the shocking news: the actor was found dead in his parents’ home in Oakland. The cause of death is now known: He died of an accidental overdose of various substances, including cocaine and fentanyl. That’s what the autopsy revealed. Cloud was only 25 years old.
His mother Lisa has now given her first interview since her son’s death. In it she clearly opposes speculation that Cloud took his own life. The medication slowed his heart rate and breathing. “He became tired from the lack of oxygen. Everything slowed down and eventually his heart stopped and he fell asleep. But he didn’t kill himself,” Lisa Cloud told People magazine.

The mother found her son at his desk in the morning – at that point he was already dead. She described the dramatic moments to People: “I started shaking him and screaming. “He’s not just an actor who overdosed. He was a beautiful soul and that’s why people miss him so much,” Lisa Cloud said. Now I understand that it was because he was on drugs,” recalls the actor’s mother.

They still have many questions about the 25-year-old’s sudden death – especially about his drug use. “Was it because of the demands of life as a celebrity and the fact that everyone wanted money from him? Or did he take the pills for pain? You can’t separate the two.” Her son was “not just an actor who overdosed. He was a wonderful soul, and that’s why people miss him so much.”
A statement released by Cloud’s family shortly after his death said Angus Cloud had suffered greatly from the loss of his father. He died of cancer less than two weeks before his death and was buried the week before.
One of the last people to see Cloud alive was his uncle Kevin Cloud. The actor used him to rearrange furniture in the house. The uncle emphasizes that he appeared “fit and healthy.” His last words to his mother were: “I love you, mom. You’re the best. We’ll see you tomorrow morning.”
