Every time Prince Harry sets foot on European soil, there are rumors about whether there will finally be a reconciliation in the British royal family. An expert now says it is unlikely he will ever speak out with Prince William and Kate.
The walls between Prince William and his little brother Harry seem insurmountable. Jennie Bond, the former royal BBC correspondent, confirmed this to OK! Magazine. She said Prince William and his wife Kate have “closed their minds” to the possibility of reconciliation.
Duchess Kate in particular no longer sees any chance that the relationship with her brother-in-law Prince Harry and his wife Meghan can ever normalize again. The Netflix documentary “Harry & Meghan” and the prince’s memoirs “Spare” added a deep insult to the couple’s already broken relationship.
Prince Harry and Meghan once or twice gossiped about the British royal family. Meghan also tried to make Kate look bad in the documentary by talking about a situation before her wedding. Apparently it was about a dispute between the bride-to-be and her sister-in-law over the flower girl dresses, one of which Princess Charlotte, Kate’s daughter, was also supposed to wear.
There was talk in the media about an argument that is said to have made Kate cry in 2018. But Prince Harry and Meghan took up the topic again in the documentary published in 2022 and in the book published in 2023. Prince Harry described in his book that it was the other way around, that Kate stressed Meghan about the flower girl dresses until she lay on the floor crying.
Prince William is said to be very hotheaded when it comes to his brother
The BBC expert claimed that incidents and public statements of this kind finished off Duchess Kate. Bond says: “Catherine was hurt and insulted by the things Harry and Meghan said, but she and William are a very strong team and I suspect that together they came to the conclusion that the row with Harry was not can be solved.”
At Prince Philip’s funeral in April 2021, Prince William and Kate are said to have tried to give the other two a hand in order to resolve the conflict between the two couples. However, differences of opinion are said to have arisen again.
Duchess Kate is said to be very hurt, but Prince William is also very emotional about the issue. Bond said that William can be quite hot-headed like his father, but Catherine is skilled at calming him down. William and Kate are said to be “a great support to each other”. According to the royal expert, their marriage should be based on a “lasting friendship”.
