US Secretary of State Antony Blinken caused astonishment with a surprising stage appearance. At a ministry event in Washington on Wednesday evening, the 61-year-old stepped behind the microphone with an electric guitar and performed “Hoochie Coochie Man” by blues legend Muddy Waters.
An initiative to promote music as a diplomatic tool was presented at the meeting, which would, among other things, bring US artists to other parts of the world. “I couldn’t miss the opportunity to combine music and diplomacy tonight,” Blinken commented on a video of his performance that he shared on the X platform.
