The actors in the Harry Potter film series mourn their colleague Michael Gambon – and remember him with moving words.
Following the death of actor Michael Gambon, who played the role of Professor Dumbledore in most of the Harry Potter films, several former colleagues have spoken out and paid tribute to him. Gambon died at the age of 82, his family announced on Thursday.
Daniel Radcliffe, who played the sorcerer’s apprentice Harry Potter in the films, highlighted Gambon’s great sense of humor. “With the loss of Michael Gambon, the world has just become a lot less fun,” the 34-year-old wrote in a statement, according to the British news agency PA. Radcliffe added that Gambon was “silly, cheeky and hilarious”.
The former actress of Harry Potter’s magical student Hermione, Emma Watson (33), also wrote on Instagram: “Dear, dear, dear Michael Gambon. You never took it too seriously, but somehow always delivered the most serious moments with full dignity. Thank you for showing us how to wear size with ease.”
Rupert Grint (35), who played Harry’s best friend, Ron Weasley, in the Potter films, described Gambon as a “personal role model”.
