Anhalt-Bitterfeld: Hacker attack on the district: Support from the state and federal government

The district of Anhalt-Bitterfeld has been struggling with a hacker attack on its servers for days. Now the federal government and the state of Saxony-Anhalt want to pool their aid.

In view of the hacker attack on the servers of the Anhalt-Bitterfeld district, state and federal authorities want to work together. At a working meeting on Wednesday, close cooperation was agreed, said a spokesman for the Interior Ministry.

The aim is to restore the authorities to work as quickly as possible. In addition to Interior Minister Michael Richter (CDU) and District Administrator Andy Grabner (CDU), representatives of the State Office of Criminal Investigation, the Ministry of Finance and the Federal Office for Information Security took part in the meeting in Köthen. The spokesman made no further information about the measures adopted and the ongoing investigation.

Solutions are already being found in many places: since Monday, employees of the Anhalt-Bitterfeld health department have been able to use workstations in Dessau-Roßlau, according to both districts. In addition, according to the state administration office of Saxony-Anhalt, additional rooms are available there and in Halle if required. There has also been cooperation on the analysis, identification and combating of the virus since the weekend.
