Daniel Hochreiter, managing director of the church music series “musica sacra”, is expecting 5,000 visitors in the coming season. Treasures of church music can be heard in six churches in Linz.

The highlights: At the start on November 5th in the Minoritenkirche this is what we want AMANI Ensemble Linz “to bring almost forgotten and therefore lesser-known German Baroque works back to life.”

A critical look at literary works that deal with the history of women will take place on November 11th in the Ursuline Church MERVE. The young ensemble interprets them musically in a new way.

The Linz Jeunesse Choircurrently choir of the year, will sing motets in the Old Cathedral on November 17th – in the upcoming Bruckner year, those of the great Anton Bruckner should not be missing.

Martin Mallaun will play the zither in the Minoritenkirche on December 3rd Chorus sine nominal for example, offers works by Michael Praetorius or Arnold Schönberg.

The Florian Boys’ Choir sing the challenging Christmas oratorio in the Minoritenkirche on December 10th – there will be a special concert for children before the original version by Bach. The aim is to appeal to a younger audience, said Hochreiter.

The Ensemble Castor will read the Stabat mater by Giovanni Battista Pergolesi and Nicola Logroscino on March 10th. The Goldberg Variations by Johann Sebastian Bach will be on April 20th String trio Benjamin Schmid, Benedict Mitterbauer and Matthias Bartolomey before. The conclusion on April 27th is entirely in the spirit of Anton Bruckner: Wolfgang Kreuzhuber and Manuel Klein combine anecdotes about people with the composer’s works.
