ART-CONGRESS REVOLUTIONS – TELAM Agency

Organized by the National University of the Arts, from October 10 to 12, the III International Arts Congress will be held in seven locations. Revueltas del Arte, a multidisciplinary event in which artistic research will come together with more than 300 registered presentations, training, thought and dialogue from prominent national and foreign guests, and, in addition, shows and interventions.

The new edition of “Revueltas del Arte” will revolve around three axes: Arts, democracy and human rights; Arts, research and production of knowledge; and Arts, science and technological linkage.

“In 2023, it will be 40 years since the recovery of democracy in Argentina, a fact so vital and definitive that it invokes and summons human rights as a sine qua non condition of life in common. It could not be any other way. The political construction of subjects is a transcendental fact; and the arts are the privileged mediators for these unique, powerful and restorative buildings,” the organizers promise, while warning that “the arts always mediate freedom as an unwavering territory of the affections and bodies involved”.

The opening will be led by the actress and singer Rita Cortese who will present her show of tangos, poems and songs, Con el alma ensuspense at the Teatro Picadero.

Ana Longoni, Gabriela Trujillo and Joan Scott will be some of the speakers.

There will also be a space for “meetings and dialogues” in which researchers and artists will share their projects. Participating, among others, is Cabinet Óseo (a duo made up of the sculptor Celina Saubidet and the designer Marina Molinelli Wells who works to honor the body and transform it into armor-jewels, large-format sculptures and installations), Gabriela Golder (visual artist who presents her project Tear out the eyes – currently at the Andreani Foundation -, which proposes a reflection on institutional violence, repression and collective trauma focusing on the pattern of ocular attack by the security forces of the Chilean and Colombian State), Paula Sibilia (Researcher and essayist Argentina, with a degree in Communication and Anthropology, will get involved with fake news, denialism and “post-truth”, and with the trolls and internet haters that poison the public debate) and Lucas Turturro (Film director and visual artist presents an activity to think about the rapid technological advance in relation to the creative process and the production of visual arts).

Within the proposed workshops there will be one aimed at childhood by Maquinas de Mirar, one on Animation and experimental kinetic graphics by three UNA teachers -Gumersindo Jerónimo de Jesús Serrano Gómez, Pablo A. Varela and Carmín Santos Posca- and another coordinated by Juanse Rausch around a new category, queer performance.
