First a restaurant, then an escape room and finally karaoke: the course of the US actress’s first date with her fiancé Jonathan Scott was precisely planned. Apparently he hit the mark.
US actress Zooey Deschanel (43) was thrilled by his structured nature on her first date with her fiancé Jonathan Scott (45). “On our very first date, you were impressed because I sent you a schedule,” Scott reminded her in a joint interview with US magazine People. “This is my dream,” she then thought, Deschanel added.
The Hollywood actress (“New Girl”) and the Canadian, who became known for his TV show “Property Brothers”, went to a restaurant together on their first date, then to an escape room and then to singing karaoke. “I had actually never been to an escape room before,” Deschanel said. In an “escape room” visitors have to look for objects and solve puzzles in order to be able to leave the room again. “I wasn’t that good the first time, to be honest, but I’m pretty proficient now,” the actress explained.
The couple met in 2019 on a joint “Carpool Karaoke” tour with presenter James Corden. Last August, Scott proposed to the actress while vacationing in Scotland. Deschanel’s children from a previous marriage, eight-year-old Elsie and six-year-old Charlie, held up a banner for the couple.
