In a new interview with Variety, Gilligan said he often thinks about the characters and what they might be doing now and discussed some possible spin-off ideas for the show, including one about Walter White’s son (Bryan Cranston), Walt Jr.

Said: “From time to time I find myself thinking about those characters, daydreaming about what would have happened to them. Anna Gunn [que interpretó a Skyler, la esposa de Walt] and R.J. Mitte They are such wonderful people who play such interesting roles that I can’t help but wish for a happy ending for them.
“When Breaking Bad ends, it is not a very happy ending for those characters, but it is presented that their lives continue. I would like to believe that things will get better for them. I would hate to think of Walt Jr. following in Walt’s footsteps into the crime business. That’s probably the kind of thing someone will feature in 10 or 15 years: Walter Jr. as an Albuquerque crime lord who succeeds where his father failed.
“I can pretty much guarantee at this point that I have no interest in that happening. It would be a sad tribute to the program. It’s fun to think about what would happen to the characters, but it doesn’t rise to the level of, ‘Wow, I’d like to tell more about the story.’ But who knows, maybe in a few years.”
He went on to say that it would be “very doubtful” that such a spin-off would ever arrive. And he added: “The only attractive thing about that idea is working with RJ Mitte again because he is a wonderful actor and a sweet guy. But that would be very depressing. That would be the wrong lesson from the program, if there are any lessons to be learned from it.”
What does Vince Gilligan regret about Breaking Bad?
Reflecting on ten years since the end of the programme, Gilligan added: “I am very proud of it and I must emphasize that it was a group effort. I had wonderful writers and we tried really hard to put everything together.
“I think the only thing we got wrong was Aaron Paul’s teeth. They are too perfect! For a guy who took as many beatings as he did and smoked as much meth, his teeth wouldn’t look as pretty. We probably did the country a disservice, but that being said, Aaron is easy on the eyes, so he was better for the people watching.”
