Jeff LaBar has died at the age of 58. This was confirmed by his ex-wife Gaile LaBar-Bernhardt, who is said to have found the musician and former Cinderella guitarist dead on Wednesday (July 14) in his apartment in Nashville. His son Sebastian said goodbye to his father. “My hero, my idol died today. Words fail me at the moment. Likes to share pictures or videos of all the fun times we all had with my father,” he wrote about a series of old photos with his father.
Former bandmates say goodbye
His former band mates have already paid tribute to LaBar in a statement: “The memories with Jeff will stay in our hearts forever. It is unimaginable that one of our band brothers has left us. We send his wife Debinique, his son Sebastian, his family and our deep condolences to his friends. “
Music colleagues like Mark Slaughter (57), founding member and namesake of the hard rock band Slaughter, also said goodbye to LaBar. To a joint picture Slaughter wrote: “Gone much too early. Rest in peace.”
Since 1985 LaBar has been the guitarist of the band Cinderella, which also includes Tom Keifer (60), Eric Brittingham (61) and Fred Coury (53). He succeeded founding member Michael Schermick. He celebrated his greatest successes with the hard rock band from Philadelphia. In August 2014 he released his first solo album “One for the Road”. In 2017, Keifer stated that Cinderella will not perform again.
