Actor Patrick Duffy speaks out with an emotional statement after the death of Suzanne Somers.
Patrick Duffy (74) mourns the loss of his long-time girlfriend Suzanne Somers (1946-2023). “Like everyone who knew her, I was stunned by the news of the death of my dear and good friend Suzanne. For a brief moment I couldn’t believe it. But she actually died,” . “My job now is to stay on the side of the road while she drives on,” he added.
In his statement, Duffy also remembered some of the things he will miss most. Including “the phone calls, the emails, the visits as well as the food and the laughter.” The two actors met in 1991 while filming the US series “Step by Step” (“A Strong Family”). Until 1998 they played the parents of a patchwork family.
In the future, Duffy wants to stay connected to his girlfriend primarily through Buddhism. “The dialogue between profound and thoughtful as well as silly and frivolous” continues.
Suzanne Somers passed away “peacefully at home.”
Suzanne Somers died “peacefully at home” last Sunday (October 15) at the age of 73. “She survived an aggressive form of breast cancer for more than 23 years,” it said.
Somers spent her final moments surrounded by her husband Alan Hamel, her son Bruce Somers Jr. and other members of her immediate family. “I’m not the only one who wants to see her and Alan face to face again,” Duffy continued. He especially sends his strength and support to Somers’ family.
Hollywood stars such as Goldie Hawn (77), Fran Drescher (66) and Kathy Griffin (62) also mourn the popular actress on social media.
