The entertainer Thomas Gottschalk will perform his last “Wetten, dass…?” take the stage completely solo in November. “Thomas Gottschalk is the sole host of the show,” explained a ZDF spokeswoman when asked by the German Press Agency. In August of this year, the broadcaster confirmed the 73-year-old Gottschalk as the host in Offenburg, but did not provide any details about the question of a co-host.

At that time, however, it became clear that Michelle Hunziker should no longer co-moderate. Gottschalk wrote about her on Instagram: “Some people will miss her in my last edition of “Wetten,dass…?” and perhaps forget that it was I who brought her onto the show and that ZDF She didn’t put her at my side as a “supervising night nurse” because I didn’t know what was going on anymore. In 2021, ZDF initially re-released the TV classic as a one-off Saturday evening show with Gottschalk and Hunziker. After the success with a good 14 million viewers, two further editions were announced for 2022 and 2023. In 2022, more than 10 million people watched the spectacle.
