Spears gave an interview for the latest issue of People magazine, and the paper also published the first excerpts from the singer’s long-awaited book. The now 41-year-old claims that she was pregnant by him during her relationship with Justin Timberlake.

“It was a surprise, but for me it wasn’t a tragedy. I loved Justin so much. I always expected that one day we would start a family. This would just be much sooner than I expected,” she remembers . “But Justin definitely wasn’t happy about the pregnancy. He said we weren’t ready to have a baby in our lives, we were way too young,” she explains. And so she had an abortion back then. A difficult decision for Spears, she admits.
“I’m sure people will hate me for this, but I agreed not to have the baby. I don’t know if that was the right decision. If it had only been up to me, I would never have done it. And yet “Justin was so sure that he didn’t want to be a father,” said the musician. “To this day,” abortion is “one of the most painful things I have ever experienced in my life.”

Timberlake declined to comment when contacted by People. Ahead of its release, Entertainment Tonight reported that Timberlake did not want to engage with Spears’ book. “For the past few years, Justin has tried to support Britney from afar. Red.] “We just want everyone to grow and develop instead of always bringing up the past,” said people close to Timberlake.

The two appeared together on the red carpet and told amorous anecdotes about each other on talk shows, while Spears continued to insist that she was a virgin. The innocence paired with skimpy outfits and ambiguous lyrics were part of Spears’ carefully constructed image.

After the breakup, Spears was seen as a culprit and Timberlake as a cuckold. Gossip magazines reported that Spears had cheated on him, and he fueled the rumor mill with his songs (including “Cry Me a River”) in which he hinted at infidelity. While Spears was under her father’s guardianship, she was unable to speak out publicly in the way she may have wanted to. It now seems all the more important for them to be heard.
