The 79-year-old wanted to perform in northern France this Saturday. His manager cites health problems as the reason for the cancellation.
Belgian pop singer Salvatore Adamo (79) has reportedly had to cancel another concert in France for health reasons. As the regional newspaper “La Voix du Nord” reported on Friday, the concert this Saturday in Roubaix near Lille in northern France has been postponed to January 2024. An appearance planned in Paris on Wednesday was canceled.
Manager Virginie Borgeaud-Bigot cited the situation in the Middle East as one reason for Adamo’s failing health. She told the daily Le Parisien that he was suffering from stress due to the events of the last few days and his song “Inch’Allah” about peace between Israelis and Palestinians. She added that although he was not feeling well, it was nothing serious. He must undergo medical examinations.
Adamo, who turns 80 on November 1st, has celebrated success in Germany with songs such as “There is a tear on a journey”, “Come in my boat” and “A little happiness”. In 1984, the Belgian singer of Italian origin suffered a heart attack and had to undergo bypass surgery.
