Hollywood icon Meryl Streep (74) and her husband, artist Don Gummer (76), are separated. The couple broke up more than six years ago, according to a statement from a spokesman for Streep, which numerous US media outlets consistently quoted.
“They will always care for each other, but have chosen to live their lives independently.”
Streep and Gummer married in 1978 and have four children together. Streep has been credited with films such as Out of Africa, Bridges on the River, The Devil Wears Prada and Mamma Mia! world famous and won several Oscars.
