This presentation will be held within the framework of the concert series that pays tribute to great personalities of Argentine culture in the Buenos Aires complex located at Sarmiento 151, where in addition to the aforementioned musicians, Cuti Carabajal and Marián Farías Gómez, who accompanied him to throughout a career that spanned more than 60 years.

The career of Coco Díaz
Pedro Joaquin Castroknown in the artistic world as Coco Díaz, was born on January 21, 1936 in the Santa Fe city of Tostado, he did radio (“El rancho de Coco Díaz” on Radio Colonia, and “Cada Díaz es una fiesta” on Radio Nacional Folklánea )” and had stable participation in television humorous cycles such as “El humor de mi País”, “La Sparka de mi gente” and “De lo Nuestro con Humor”.
Father of María Eugenia and Juan Martín, who knew how to support the folklore duo Los Díaz, and artistic godson of Nini Marshall and of Victor Abel Gimenezthe musician toured different cities and regional festivals in Argentina and the world.
He received recognition for his career from the Honorable Chamber of Deputies on two occasions.
With a repertoire where chamamé, valseados and rancheras with a humorous tone prevailed, Coco Díaz contributed more than 300 works to the coastal songbook such as “Muchacha de Tostado”, “Pinedo Viejo”, “Al gauchito Gil”, “Isla Las Cañas”, “Como flor del irupé”, “El viejito del accordión”, “Camino al Litoral”, “Estancia El Relincho” and “This is how I sing my Chaco to you”.
He died on March 11, 2021 at age 83; His city of birth honored him with a square that bears his name in the neighborhood where he lived during his childhood, and his chacarera “Del tiempo de mi childhood” (recorded by Mercedes Sosa, Soledad, Chaqueño Palavecino), was declared cultural heritage by the Deliberative Council of your city.
