Mar del Plata – Once again in person, but soulless and disorganized, or this (and more) but in person, depending on whether the glass is half empty or full, the 36th Mar del Plata Film Festival is coming to an end. There is no red carpet, just a few old pieces of blue, nor international figures passing through it. There is neither a catalog nor a hand program, nor was there a printed invitation for the inauguration and it is possible to suspect that there will not be for the closing of tomorrow, when the awards are announced and many winners thank from their homes. There is also no Audience Award, and tomorrow there will be no closing film. They will give it only on Sunday, in two functions for the general public, and a few days later it will go on Netflix: “Parallel Mothers”, by Pedro Almodóvar. At least one good habit is preserved: the previous closings, with “Roma”, by Alfonso Cuarón, and “The Irishman”, by Martin Scorsese, were also previews of Netflix on the big screen.
