Angelo Bruschini, guitarist of the British group Massive Attack, has died

In July the musician had announced on his Facebook account that he was suffering from lung cancer and that his health had worsened.

The iconic British trip hop group Mass Attack announced this Tuesday the death of his guitarist Angelo Bruschiniwho suffered from lung cancer, at the age of 62.

“Rest in peace, Angelo. A singularly brilliant and original talent,” writes Massive Attack on their official X account (formerly Twitter), adding that it is “impossible to quantify” his contribution to the group originating from the English city of Bristol.

On their Instagram account, the group adds that they are “devastated” by the disappearance of their guitarist.

Founded in the 1980s, Massive Attack had its greatest moment of glory in the 1990s with its albums “Mezzanine” and “100th Windows”.

After having played in several bands, Angelo Bruschini joined Massive Attack in 1990, helping to design the musical identity of the Bristol group.

In July Angelo Bruschini had announced on his Facebook account that he was suffering from lung cancer and that his health had worsened.

“I have had a magnificent life, I have traveled the world on several occasions, I have met many formidable people, but the door closes”he had written.
