The meeting scheduled for yesterday between the Hollywood Screen Actors Guild (SAG-AFTRA) and the representatives of the big studios (AMPTP) It was postponed until this afternoon after the union demanded more time to analyze the latest proposal received to end the strike that is paralyzing the industry. for more than a hundred days.

“Our committee spent today reviewing AMPTP’s latest counteroffer. Tomorrow we will meet with the executive directors”expressed the Union in the statement in which it reported on the postponement of the meeting, according to the specialized site Variety.

The talks had resumed on Tuesday of this week after the failure of the first meeting that occurred on October 11, when the intentions of both parties were too far apart, as reported on that occasion.

The offer of the big studios to the actors union

At the new meeting, the producers’ alliance presented a new offer on which the Union had to issue yesterday, but requested a longer period until today to be able to give a response.

In this new stage of the talks, studios improved the bonus offered to the Union for the most viewed streaming programsas well as further increases in minimum rates.

However, since the beginning of the conflict, the actors have been demanding a share of the total streaming revenue, a point on which the studios have not yet given in.

The truth is that the AMPTP is eager to reach an agreement in the next week to save the movie and series season. If the strike continues, the fear is that more premieres will be delayed.
