The Rapturethe new original Argentine film of Paramount+ is preparing for its arrival on the streaming platform. It had its theatrical release yesterday, and has just been shown at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).
The film, produced by Paramount Television International Studios, Rei Cine and Infinity Hill, is directed by Daniela Goggi and starring Rodrigo de la Serna, Julieta Zylberberg, Lautaro Perez Hillal, Lola Loyacono, Andrea Garrote, Germán Palacios and Jorge Marrale.
What The Rapture is about
The story takes place in Buenos Aires, in the 1980s. Julio Levy and his family return to Argentina after a long exile in order to enjoy their life in democracy and collaborate in the family business. An event alters his plans. His brother is kidnapped, forcing her to take his place in the family business, while he manages the company and leads a complex operation to rescue his brother. Julio will discover the face of the hidden forces that still operate behind the recently recovered Argentine democracy.
The Rapture is a fictional political thriller inspired by real stories that occurred in that decade and the book Dad’s jumpof Martin Sivak.
The film arrives on Paramount+ on November 3.
