Taylor Swift has re-released her album “1989” with more tracks. She celebrates this with a special piece of clothing for the fans.
Taylor Swift (33) released her album “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” on Friday. The re-release comes nine years after the release of the original album and contains five previously unreleased tracks that did not make it onto the record in 2014. The singer is celebrating the album release in a special way: the musician has brought a limited edition cardigan onto the market.
The light blue cardigan is inspired by the album cover. A seagull motif is embroidered on the back of the garment. On the front, cream-colored stripes frame the collar and hem and the lettering “1989” is embroidered on the side and a patch with the initials “TS” is attached. The jacket can currently be pre-ordered until next Monday.
The singer had already announced the re-recording of the album with hits like “Shake It Off”, “Blank Space” and “Bad Blood” last August. She wrote: “The album has changed my life in many ways and I’m so excited that my version of it will be released on October 27th. To be completely honest, this is my favorite of the new recordings because of the five tracks “They’re so great. I can’t believe they were ever left behind.”
Many fans celebrated the release of “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” on Friday, including a famous member of Sesame Street. A photo was published that shows Elmo based on the album cover of the new and old versions. Seagulls can be seen in the background and Elmo is holding a Polaroid camera in his hand. The picture was commented with “‘Cause Elmo will never go out of style” – a reference to Swift’s song “Style”. The snapshot was also updated with “EST. 1980,” the year Elmo first appeared on Sesame Street.
She conquers the billion-dollar club
Taylor Swift recently broke the magical billion mark. As the industry magazine “Bloomberg” reports, the singer has broken the sound barrier due to her current tour and now has more than a billion US dollars – the equivalent of around 950 million euros. According to the report, Swift’s performance is particularly “monumental” because she primarily generates her income directly from her music and concerts, coupled with merchandise sales.
