Surgery, chemo, treatments: The time after his wife Bridgette’s ovarian cancer diagnosis was “extremely difficult,” says the former tennis star. And asks for prayers for the “healing journey.”
Former tennis star Pete Sampras (52) has made it public that his wife, actress Bridgette Wilson-Sampras (50), is suffering from serious cancer.
The past year was “extremely difficult” for his family, Sampras wrote in an emotional message on the ATP men’s tennis organization’s X platform. His wife was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in December, followed by serious surgery, chemotherapy and other treatments.
It was difficult to watch a loved one overcome such a challenge. Her two sons had provided strong support, emphasized Sampras. He would now ask for “good thoughts and prayers” for his family as his wife continues her “healing journey.”
Bridgette Wilson-Sampras filmed with Schwarzenegger
The former world-class tennis player and the actress, a former Miss Teen USA, married in California in 2000. Three years later, Sampras retired from professional tennis. The couple’s two sons are 18 and 20 years old.
Bridgette Wilson-Sampras made films such as “Last Action Hero” (1993) alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger, “Wedding Planner” (2001) with Matthew McConaughey and Jennifer Lopez and “Shopgirl” (2005) with Steve Martin.
