Animals: Thomas Kretschmann: I like animals better than people

The actor cannot understand why some people torture animals. He thinks something like that is “outrageous”. He himself has two dogs that he brought from the animal shelter.

The actor Thomas Kretschmann (“The Pianist”) says he is a great animal lover.

«I actually prefer animals to people. I love dogs, we also have two. They come from the animal shelter and were previously abused, ”said the 58-year-old to the magazine“ Playboy ”. Kretschmann, who described the abuse of his two four-legged friends as “monstrous”, finds it unimaginable why and how people can be like that. “I think, for example, that in the legal system, animals and their torture and mistreatment must not be rated lower than that of humans.”

Kretschmann plays the Baron von Fürstenberg in the second season of the Netflix series “Biohackers”. In the science thriller, which is being shot in Freiburg, star lecturer Tanja Lorenz (Jessica Schwarz) experiments with the biotechnologies of tomorrow in her laboratory. The freshman student Mia (Luna Wedler) gets on her track and is kidnapped at the end of the first season.

The second season can be seen on the streaming service since July 9th.
