Heidi Klum has been hosting an annual Halloween party since 2000. When it comes to her costumes, the Rhineland-born woman’s imagination knows no bounds. She was already a skinned corpse and old woman, Betty Boop and Kali, an Indian goddess with eight arms. In 2022, Heidi Klum celebrated with her husband Tom Kaulitz: He came as a fisherman, she was the worm he caught on the hook.
The spectacular costume almost never existed. Klum has been working with makeup artist Mike Marino and his team for many years. For Halloween they have already transformed the model into comic heroine Jessica Rabbit, a werewolf or Princess Fiona from the film “Shrek”. But when Klum came up with the idea of Marino turning her into a worm, he initially refused.
“He didn’t want to do it at first and kept encouraging me to come up with something new,” Klum told Vogue. But she remained persistent, after all she worked on the costume idea for almost two years. “Once I fall in love with an idea, I don’t want to change course.”
Fans can be curious to see what costume Klum will wear on Halloween in 2023. She wrote in advance on Instagram: “My motto for Halloween this time is: Go big or go home.”
