The second season of House of the Dragon will be released in “early winter” 2024 in HBOannounced the head of the chain, Casey Bloys, during a press event on Thursday as reported by the Variety portal. At the media presentation, the first trailer of the second season was shown exclusively, of which details are not yet known.

During a portion of the Q&A event, Bloys said he hopes the spinoff of game of Thrones, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knightwill begin filming next spring (fall for us), pending the end of the ongoing actors’ strike.

Based on the book “Fire & Blood” from the author George R.R. Martin, House of the Dragon follows the Targaryen dynasty on the fictional continent of Westeros. It takes place almost 200 years before the events of game of Thrones and about 100 years after the Targaryens united the Seven Kingdoms.
The first season of 10 episodes of House of the Dragon It aired from August 21 to October 21. October 23, 2022. It was renewed for Season 2 just a week after the series premiered, which earned record ratings for HBO.
The second season stars Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Eve Best, Steve Toussaint, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, Tom Glynn-Carney, Sonoya Mizuno and Rhys Ifans. Other returning season 1 cast members include Harry Collett, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Phia Saban, Jefferson Hall, and Matthew Needham.
The newly announced actors joining House of the Dragon for season two are Gayle Rankin like Alys Rivers, Simon Russell Beale Like Being Simon Strong, Freddie Fox as Ser Gwayne Hightower and Abubakar Salim like Alyn from Hull.
