Mario and Ann-Kathrin Götze: That’s the name of their daughter

Ann-Kathrin and Mario Götze published their first family photos after the birth of their daughter. Together with their three-year-old son Rome and the youngest addition to the family, the two of them are visibly happy sitting on a sofa in the pictures. “Our daughter Gioia was born on October 20th and we are overjoyed to have her with us,” the couple wrote in a statement.

Many celebrities were immediately enthusiastic about the family pictures. “Congratulations. Now you’re a four-leaf clover,” commented moderator Kai Pflaume on the post. “Congratulations on the birth of your pretty little princess and all the best to your family,” wrote presenter Sylvie Meis. Former football professional André Schürrle and singer Vanessa Mai left a heart emoji.

Ann-Kathrin and Mario Götze have been in a relationship since 2012. They got married in a civil ceremony in May 2018, and the big wedding celebration in Mallorca followed in 2019. Son Rome was born in June 2020. At the beginning of May 2023 it was announced that the couple was expecting another child.

Eintracht Frankfurt revealed the birth of the Götze baby

The birth of the second child became known in a rather unusual way, as it was Mario Götze’s employer who announced the baby news. “Mario Götze has become a father for the second time and is therefore not in the squad,” it said on October 21st on the X account of the Bundesliga soccer club Eintracht Frankfurt.

The club continued: “Congratulations to the whole family and a good start together.” The club also commented on the fact that the model and the sports professional have now had a daughter after their son: “Welcome to the world, little junior eagle.”
