“Schlagerchampions”: Why Silbereisen fans should remember January 13th

Good news for all Florian Silbereisen fans: The live broadcast “Schlagerchampions” from Berlin on January 13, 2024 is now dry. A spokesman for the responsible Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk (MDR) said this at the request of the German Press Agency in Leipzig.

“Due to production processes and the narrow time window, there is already a one-off contractual regulation for this,” the station spokesman explained. “Hall booking, ticket sales and the entire professional planning of such a show require appropriate decisions and lead time.”

This high-rating entertainment program on the first was initially in limbo due to ongoing contract negotiations at MDR. The final decision of the responsible broadcasting council is still pending for further editions of the popular “Feste” series on Erste with hits and folk music. This involves four more television evenings over the next year.

According to the spokesman, the MDR broadcasting council will vote on an overall contract for 2024 at its next meeting in early December. It’s about the five festivals with Florian Silbereisen for Das Erste in the calendar year. If the committee agrees, “this one January show will automatically become part of the overall contract,” said the spokesman.

The show series “Feste” in the ARD community program Das Erste includes several Silbereisen music programs, for example “The Advent Festival of 100,000 Lights”. Many pop stars appear in the shows. Silbereisen is one of the best-known show stars in the hit business.

The MDR is in charge of this entertainment area among the ARD broadcasters. The collaboration of the long-standing show series with presenter and singer Silbereisen (42) was continued for four more years from 2020 – i.e. until the end of 2023.
