The death of Elmar Wepper (1944-2023) on October 31st also came as a surprise to his brother Fritz Wepper (82). “It was not to be expected, I am full of sadness”, . There were “no signs of physical weakness or illness.” The TV star added: “It came out of the blue, like a terrible lightning bolt. The only consolation is that he didn’t suffer, but died of cardiac arrest.” His sister-in-law Anita went out with the dog early in the morning, “came back and found Elmar dead in his bed,” says Fritz Wepper. “I was then called by Elmar’s son and found out from him.”
“I wanted to say so much to him”
Fritz Wepper also explains that he “thought briefly about failures, even though we had a good brotherly relationship.” “Unfortunately, we hadn’t seen each other for a few weeks, but we spoke regularly on the phone. I wanted to say so much to him. I miss him from the bottom of my heart.” The 82-year-old goes on to say on “Bunte” that he would have “just liked to see his brother again” to say goodbye to him. The brothers shared, among other things, their hobbies of golf and fishing as well as their love of nature and adventure: “We went on great trips, for example to British Columbia in Canada,” remembers Fritz Wepper.
