Munich, Hamburg, Berlin: three German cities can look forward to the visit of the Norwegian Crown Prince Haakon. Together with government representatives and a business delegation, the 50-year-old is traveling through the Federal Republic for four days to honor the good relations between Germany and Norway. According to the Norwegian embassy, core topics are economy, energy, shipping, defense and culture.
At the start in the Bavarian capital, Haakon visited, among other things, the Literaturhaus and a security policy conference. The royal continued to Hamburg by plane. There he was received by Peter Tschentscher, the city’s first mayor, in the town hall and paid a visit to the Chamber of Commerce. Finally, there was a boat trip on the Elbe before the Crown Prince traveled on to Berlin by train.
There he will meet his wife Mette-Marit, who was probably unable to make the entire trip for health reasons. The couple will attend a November 9 memorial service in the capital. At the end of the four-day trip to Germany, visits to Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier in Bellevue Palace and Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz in the Chancellery are planned.
