A few days ago, the death of Matthew Perry shocked friends and fans. One of them is fellow actor Zac Efron. He praises the “Friends” star highly.
US actor Zac Efron would like to play his recently deceased colleague Matthew Perry (“Friends”) in a biopic. “I’m honored to hear that he thought about me playing him,” the 36-year-old told US magazine People. “We’ll see. It would be an honor to do that.”
Perry, who was found dead in a hot tub at his Los Angeles home at the end of October at the age of 54, had reportedly said shortly before his death that he would like to be played by Efron in a biopic.
Efron had already played a younger version of Perry’s film character Mike O’ Donnell alongside the late actor in the 2009 comedy “17 Again – Back to High School”. “He was a mentor to me,” Efron said of the “Friends” star. Shooting the film together was “surreal” for him because he learned so much from Perry. “I looked up to him and learned comedic timing from him.”
