Awards ceremony 2023: Bambi for Hollywood villain Mads Mikkelsen

Mads Mikkelsen will be presented with the Bambi award in Munich on November 16th. The award ceremony will take place again for the first time in three years.

Mads Mikkelsen (57) will receive the Bambi in the “International Acting” category on November 16th in Munich. The organizer Hubert Burda Media announced this. The prize has been awarded since 1948 to well-known personalities who have particularly touched this country and who have achieved outstanding achievements.

For the Hollywood star, it is the first Bambi award after many other awards. The Dane is best known for his numerous film roles as villains. He was most recently seen in cinemas as Grindelwald in the fantasy film “Fantastic Beasts: Dumbledore’s Secrets”.

The award ceremony will take place this year in the Bavaria Filmstudios and will probably be awarded in twelve categories, as Hubert Burda Media writes on its website. There are prizes, among others, for the “most successful artist of the year” with nominees such as Nina Chuba (25) and Leony (26) and in the “Legend” category, which singer Peter Maffay (74) will receive in 2023 for his life’s work.

Bambi is coming back after a year-long break

The traditional event did not take place in 2020, 2021 and 2022. However, for the 75th anniversary of the media prize, the media group has decided to award the prize again. The TV broadcast of the event on November 16, 2023 starts at 8:15 p.m. on Sat.1. According to Burda, around 800 invited guests from various walks of life are expected.
